Even though my previous career looked great on paper, I was longing for something that would help to heal the world a little. Around 2006, I was asked by a friend to help her family in Kenya. A few years later, I found myself on a drill site in rural Kenya in awe. I was watching the lives of this entire community change right before my eyes. I decided that I could use my skills and continue doing this work.

But, I knew if I was going to ditch my old life and take this new path, I had to figure out how to do it the right way. Too many water wells are broken in developing countries, so I set my mind to seeking advice to build a model that would yield long-lasting water systems that would catalyze true development for these regions. With that – knowing that we could do it well (pun intended) – I figured it would be worth it. Still no regrets.
