Hybrid And Beyond: Is “Flexible Working” Helping Britain’s SMEs To Deal With Wage Pressures?

When you’re traveling with technology, power matters. Having a power supply with enough muscle to charge a laptop, a smartphone and a tablet is essential. Fortunately, due to GaN (Gallium Nitride) technology, the size of these powerful chargers is getting smaller.

The Ugreen Nexode GaNX 65W is a handy little charger with three ports and foldable power prongs that flip out when in use and fit a standard US power outlet. There are two USB-C ports and a single USB-A port for legacy charging and a total power budget of 65W for charging a phone, tablet, laptop, and more, all at the same time.

Ugreen claims that the Nexode GaNX 65W can charge an iPhone three times faster than the original iPhone charger that Apple used to ship. For example, it can charge an iPhone 13 to 60% in around 30 minutes or fully charge a MacBook Pro 16-inch in just 1.5 hours.

We’ve all read horror stories of power chargers bursting into flames, but that’s unlikely to happen with this model as Ugreen’s Power-X system can intelligently adjust the power output to protect a product’s battery. The Over Temperature Protection system takes five temperature readings every second for extra security.

Thanks to its use of a GaN chip and a foldable plug, the Nexode GaNX 65W is small enough to fit in the palm of a hand and weighs just 135g. Better still, GaN chip manufacturing has a CO2 footprint that’s ten times lower than silicon-based solutions and GaN chips are more efficient, wasting less energy.

With an input voltage of 100 to 240V, the Ugreen Nexode GaNX 65W can work almost anywhere and there’s protection for overvoltage input.

Verdict: The Ugreen Nexode GaNX 65W charger is a neat piece of kit and can replace three or four chargers that you might need when traveling. There are a lot of these small devices on the market but look out for the ones using GaN technology because they operate at lower temperatures and use less energy.

Pricing & Availability: The Ugreen Nexode GaNX 65W is available now and costs $59.99.
