Here’s a little bit of exciting news in the form of a teaser announcement from Sennheiser about a brand-new pair of noise-canceling headphones which are the second release in the Momentum range since Sennheiser licensed its consumer range to Sonova AG. Fortunately, the arrangement hasn’t affected the quality of Sennheiser’s consumer products as it’s the same team of engineers and professionals who just now happen to work for Sonova AG rather than Sennheiser.

You can read all about the decision made by Daniel and Andreas Sennheiser in my exclusive interview with the two brothers behind the Sennheiser brand. You can also read my review of the recently release Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless earphones here. These were the first product to be released after the deal with Sonova and they didn’t disappoint.

Now, after what seems like an age, the world’s most recognizable headphone brand has released a few teasing details on the brand-new Momentum 4 Wireless over-the-ear headphones which are due to launch in August. If you’re thinking of buying a new pair of ANC wireless headphones, it might be worth holding on for a couple of months until we can review the new Momentum 4 Wireless model.

Sennheiser says the upcoming Momentum 4 Wireless over-ear headphones will “raise the bar even higher, with best-in-class sound, advanced Adaptive Noise Cancellation and an all-new design offering exceptional comfort”. Sennheiser claims the battery life of the new Momentum 4 will deliver up to 60 hours of playing time.

The Momentum range of earphones and headphones is built around Sennheiser’s Signature Sound thanks to an audiophile-inspired 42mm transducer system that delivers excellent dynamics, clarity and high-fidelity sound. The angled speaker in each earpiece ensures that sound is channeled slightly from the front towards the user’s ears to give a more natural soundstage. Advanced microphones built into the headphones are optimized for phone calls and provide easier voice assistant access.

The Momentum 4 Wireless headphones offer multiple customizations to enable users to adapt the sound to their unique preferences. An all-new lightweight design is optimized for acoustic performance, with deep, cushioned earpads to ensure long-lasting wearing comfort. The synthetic leather ear pads offer comfort and high precision in reproducing sound and ANC performance.

Availability: The Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless headphones will go on sale globally from August 2022. No pricing information has been provided yet.
