ELAC Announces Flagship Miracord 80 Vinyl Turntable

ELAC has been making high-performance turntables, speakers and electronics since 1948. Today, the brand is launching the Miracord 80 turntable that was previewed at High End Munich, earlier this year.

The Miracord 80 is ELAC’s flagship high-mass, belt-driven turntable featuring a 10-inch carbon fiber tonearm, solid wooden plinth, plus optional dedicated MM (Moving Magnet) cartridge manufactured for ELAC by Clearaudio.

The Miracord 80’s plinth is milled from a substantial chunk of wood and forms the foundation for this high-end turntable. Available in gloss white, black or walnut veneer, the plinth is fitted with anodized aluminum panels that add to its overall stability and mass.

The Miracord 80 features a steel platter that weighs in at a hefty 5.6kg. The platter is supported by a complex bearing design and is belt-driven by a PID servo-controlled DC motor with optical control for absolute speed stability.

The newly developed 10-inch tonearm is made from carbon fiber for high strength and lightness. It’s ideal for carrying the delicate D96 moving magnet cartridge and stylus manufactured for Elac by Clearaudio. The turntable can be ordered with or without the cartridge.

Pricing & Availability: The ELAC Miracord 80 turntable is available now in gloss white, gloss black or walnut veneer finishes for £2,199 with the D96 cartridge or £1,999 without. An optional lid is available for £199. USA Prices to be announced.
